Have you ever wanted to go behind the scenes and check out what really makes COSI happen?  Well, this is your chance.

Our Programs Committee has been hard at work and we've been able to schedule a tour of COSI, the Center of Science and Industry, for Tuesday, February 20th at 4pm.

Check out the Dinosaurs, the National Geographic Giant Screen (with a 4K digital projection system), the planetarium and many more interesting things.

Meeting Information: Enter COSI via the main entrance (on the west side of the building under the gold cylinder).  Upon arrival, check in at our registration table and then proceed straight back to the Central High Meeting room.  We'll begin the tour there, learning about the energy efficiency initiatives that COSI implemented.   We'll then head to the Dino exhibit and Silk Road to check things out.

Tour/Happy Hour Parking: If you're planning on attending the tour and the happy hours, please feel free to park at Land-Grant Brewing Company and walk over to COSI.  This is approximately walk of roughly 2-3 blocks or 0.3 miles.

Parking Garage: Parking for cars and vans is available in the underground parking garage on COSI’s west side and accessible from Belle Street. Guests will enter COSI through the west entrance on level one. The underground parking garage is owned by the City of Columbus and operated by LAZ Parking. The cost for car/van parking is $6 per vehicle or $5 per vehicle for COSI Members. This is a discounted rate for COSI guests. In order to receive this rate, you MUST bring your parking ticket to COSI Admissions for a discount stamp. Payment can then be made at the garage “pay on foot” kiosks or at the self-pay kiosk inside COSI.

About COSI, the Center of Science and Industry

COSI opened to the public on March 29,1964.  That first day, an Easter Sunday, COSI welcomed more than 5,000 guests, who paid 50 cents for an adult and 25 cents for a youth admission.

After 35 years in Memorial Hall, COSI moved to its current location in downtown Columbus at 333 West Broad Street on November 6, 1999. Internationally renowned architect Arata Isozaki designed the 320,000 square foot building to showcase the future of COSI. Since 1964, COSI has welcomed more than 33 million visitors from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries.

The new COSI Planetarium—the largest in Ohio—features state-of-the-art digital technology that offers an unsurpassed glimpse of our incredible universe. The COSI Planetarium’s new Digistar 5 projection system and 60-foot dome will transport you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, to undersea volcanoes and distant lands, and even into the human body. For all who wonder, who question, who dream, your window to the universe is now open at COSI. Register now as there is spots are limited.
