President's Report

The WELL building tour and our Network social at Tin Pen Alley were very successful. The State of the Union was well attended this year and it was great to see familiar faces that have been a little distant of late due to their busy schedules. Special thanks to Charlie Snyder for setting the event up and getting us all out of there on time.

On a separate note, I want to share a great story with you that just occurred last week. One of our chapter members, Rob Durr, was one of twelve chapter members to attend our first FMP Credential class.  While looking at the IFMA Jobs site, Rob found an opportunity and it just happened that one of the requirements was a Facility credential. At this point, I'll let you hear it from Rob's perspective.

" I wanted to reach out and share some important changes with everyone from our FMP class.  Monday, I accepted a job offer for Sr. Manager of Facilities and head of maintenance operations for the Toronto Blue Jays.  I will oversee the player development complex and minor league stadium at the Dunedin, Florida complex.  Without IFMA and the completion of the FMP, I would have never had the opportunity.  The position was posted on the IFMA job board, which is where I first read of the amazing opportunity and one of the requirements was a professional maintenance credential.  The job fit everything I was looking for on a management level.

I wanted to share this story with everyone.  I am very thankful for the FMP class, the group of people and everything we were able to learn together.  I will be carrying on with IFMA and joining a local chapter in the Tampa area.

With all that said, THANK YOU all for the support and stories during and after the class. "         Rob Durr

Congratulations Rob! We wish you well on your new adventure.

And to everyone, Happy Holidays from the Central Ohio IFMA Chapter.

Thank you,

Todd Kise, CFM, SFP

President, IFMA Central Ohio

Committee Help Needed

Are you looking for a way to network with your fellow IFMA Central Ohio members and get more involved with the Chapter?

The Committees in IFMA Central Ohio are what makes the Chapter operate efficiently and effectively.  We have a number of committees that need your help:

Programs- This committee selects, schedules and coordinates the monthly programs and tours for the Chapter. The Committee endeavors to help members increase their knowledge and expertise in facility management related topics. This is accomplished by providing programs and tours that bring to the forefront topics of facility management that pertain to the working environment.

If you're interested in joining this committee, please contact Kelly Waters (614-736-9007 or [email protected]) or Jacque Adams (614-400-8533 or [email protected]).

Membership- This Committee promotes membership growth and retention by providing new member recruiting events and encouraging new and current members to be involved in chapter events and activities. The committee also conducts quarterly new member events, as well as assists in welcoming/registering attendees at Chapter programs, tours and events. Chapter co-chairs are Emily Kershaw and Lisa Davis.

Associate Membership - This Committee works with our associate members with questions and sponsorship opportunities. Associate members are an important part of the Chapter as we regularly tap into their knowledge base to help our Professionals receive the knowledge they need to perform their responsibilities. Current chair is Jeff Havens.
